Josh photographed these vibrant images 120 feet underground in deep, twisted, and narrow canyons of the Arizona desert. The cold winter temperatures early in the morning were just about freezing and they made adjusting my camera by hand quite difficult. When sunlight finally reached the depths of the canyon walls the intense light was astonishing. The walls illuminated with rich colors of yellow, orange, red, and purple while the sun’s changing position created a plethora of surreal abstract shapes and designs throughout the canyon.
