Within slot canyons, one finds highly-smoothed, curved and striated layers of sedimentation sculpted into labyrinths filled with colorful, twisting cathedral-like formations.  Under just the right conditions, reflected sunlight causes the walls of these canyons to glow with seemingly incandescent colors including yellow, orange, red and pink accented with shades of purple and blue.  Depending on the time of the year, these beautiful scenes may occasionally be punctuated by narrow beams of light slicing through the darkness.
